Gemserv's business is making utility markets work. They develop, implement and operate utility markets helping to set up regulatory structures and governance frameworks. Gemserv work with market-level bodies to help set standards, promote best practice and technically audit market participants.
Gemserv is working with the Water Industry Commission for Scotland to develop and implement the market design for the Scottish water market that opens for all non domestic customers in April 2008. After implementing the systems and processes to enable competition, Gemserv will manage the operation of the market for the Central Market Agency (CMA), who will be administering the water market in Scotland.
In 2006 Gemserv chose Bridgeall as their IT solutions partner for the design and development of the central systems. The system functionality covers customer registrations, aggregation and settlements and enables the existing wholesaler, the existing retailer, and new entrant water retailers to operate in the market.
This major development project and the associated stringent timescales has required Bridgeall and Gemserv to work in a very close and agile manner so that key deliverables are met well ahead of market opening.
We are delighted to have partnered Gemserv in this exciting and challenging project.
