Shining a light on Smart Cities software applications

Posted on

Over the course of the last six months, the team at Bridgeall has successfully rebranded and re-launched its services to meet a growing demand for Cloud, Collaboration and Software development services here in the UK.

As part of this rebranding exercise, we decided to support a number of key IT events here in Scotland, exhibiting at two of the premier IT events taking place this summer – Digital Scotland and Scotland’s Technology Show, the latter taking place on the 11th June at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow.

At each event, to make our brand stand out and align fully with the aspirations of the conference, we decided to launch a competition to find the best Smart Cities software application. The winner, selected by a panel of judges, receives a Microsoft Surface tablet device from Bridgeall.

At our first event, Digital Scotland, we received 22 entries in total;  with ideas ranging from the location of the nearest ‘out-of-hours’ medical centre to the more frivolous ‘proximity to your favourite brand of shoes’; and everything in between….

The winner, selected by our panel of judges, was an excellent idea from Paul White, Director of Networks at the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations, to design a smart app to link the register of 3rd sector charities to members of the public who want to help.

If you are interested in seeing the full list of ideas that were generated, or wish to talk to Bridgeall about our services, please email contactus@bridgeall.com.
