Custom Development-SharePoint and.NET
Following many years of developing some 100+ applications and 1000+ databases in Lotus Notes, HEINEKEN UK has taken the strategic decision to re-develop and standardise on Microsoft technologies.
Key challenges for HEINEKEN were a lack of .NET experience across internal staff and the need to deliver the programme within 2 years.
Bridgeall was selected from a completive tender as one of HEINEKEN UK's SharePoint .NET and core ASP.NET preferred development partners based on their deep .NET experience, SharePoint know-how, agile development approach and rigorous software engineering discipline. Bridgeall was able to demonstrate these qualities during the tender exercise and through referencing a number of large, complex .NET software development projects successfully delivered for other clients in the past.
Business processes needed to be streamlined
The first project was to transition an Out of Hours Support Manager application from a variety of disparate departmental solutions, both Lotus Notes applications and spreadsheets, into a single application that streamlined the process for the business.
Since this initial application would lay much of the framework to standardise subsequent applications, Bridgeall took a wider and longer-term view and developed a set of re-usable components and design elements that could be easily incorporated across the full programme.
Bridgeall's knowledge of the SharePoint platform's capabilities, combined with experience of delivering complex ASP.NET solutions meant that they were able to quickly identify discrete packages of work, such as highly performant custom grids and an easy to use reporting module, that could be quickly transitioned from other ASP.NET projects into the SharePoint .NET framework, with no compromise on quality or performance.

The Out of Hours Support Manager application was delivered on-budget, fully meeting HEINEKEN UK's quality expectations, and is set to become the first of many applications on which both companies work together through to program completion.
