Project Description
The Clydeside Distillery is a Glasgow-based Scotch whisky distillery and visitor centre, bringing together Scotland’s whisky heritage with a modern visitor experience on the banks of the River Clyde.
As a new organisation preparing for launch, Clydeside Distillery required a reliable and secure technology environment that could support day-to-day operations, visitor services and business growth from the outset.
Bridgeall partnered with The Clydeside Distillery to design, implement and manage its IT infrastructure, combining on-premise systems with Microsoft cloud services. The result was a resilient, secure and scalable IT environment supported through proactive managed IT services.
From an organisational perspective, it has been a seamless transfer and on a personal level – the fact it has been so problem free has been a weight off my shoulders!! It is also worth saying here, that Bridgeall’s whole approach has been completely professional, from the the way the project has been planned and carried out, to the level of documentation we’ve received- this is something that we’ve just not had before. Thanks to you and the team. – Donalda Hogg, Director of Finance and Corporate Services
About The Clydeside Distillery
The Clydeside Distillery was established to create a unique Scotch whisky experience, combining traditional whisky production with a world-class visitor attraction.
Located within the historic Pump House on the banks of the River Clyde in Glasgow, the distillery welcomes visitors to explore Scotland’s whisky story while supporting the production of its own spirit. As a modern organisation with a small team and ambitious growth plans, Clydeside Distillery needed technology that was simple to manage, secure and flexible enough to support its operations as the business developed.
Challenges facing The Clydeside Distillery
As a new distillery preparing to open, Clydeside Distillery required an IT environment that could provide a strong foundation for business operations from day one.
The organisation needed reliable access to email, documents, applications and business systems while ensuring staff could collaborate effectively and securely.
A key requirement was to avoid the complexity and cost of managing traditional IT infrastructure internally. The distillery needed a trusted technology partner who could design the right environment, provide ongoing support and ensure systems remained secure and available. The solution also needed to support a mixture of business applications, including EPOS systems, file storage, user devices and operational services required to run the visitor centre and distillery.
The Solution – How Bridgeall Helped
Bridgeall designed and implemented a complete managed IT solution tailored to Clydeside Distillery’s requirements.
The solution combined local infrastructure with Microsoft cloud technologies to create a secure and resilient hybrid IT environment. Bridgeall deployed the core technology infrastructure required to support the distillery’s operations, including business devices, server infrastructure, network services and secure access to essential applications.
Microsoft 365 was introduced to provide modern workplace capabilities including business email, document management, collaboration tools and secure access across devices. This enabled staff to work efficiently while reducing reliance on traditional on-premise systems.
Bridgeall also implemented Azure cloud services to enhance resilience, providing cloud-based backup, disaster recovery capability and additional protection for critical systems.
Alongside the technology deployment, Bridgeall provided ongoing managed IT support, including proactive monitoring, security management, patching, device management and service desk support. Through continuous monitoring and preventative maintenance, Bridgeall helps identify and resolve issues before they impact the business.
