Project Description
Wheatley Group were looking to digitise their Clerk of Works inspection service and engaged Bridgeall to provide a solution. Their existing solution was disjointed and used third party software and manual processes. The team provided a high-level summary of requirements, and Bridgeall proposed a Power App be developed for their clerk of works to use while out in the field.

Challenges facing Wheatley
In today’s data-driven world, it’s crucial for businesses to have fully integrated systems. Disconnected data scattered across operations makes it difficult to extract meaningful insights and slows down decision-making.
This was the challenge faced by Wheatley Group. Their Clerk of Works site inspection system relied heavily on collecting data like photos and documents from various sites via manual methods. As a result, managing the data and compiling a comprehensive view of completed work was time-consuming and inefficient.
We developed a fully branded Power Platform solution to replace a manual, paper– and email–based process with a modern, mobile-friendly app. The solution includes a model-driven app for administrative users to manage core data such as properties, projects, plots, and contacts, all integrated within Dataverse and leveraging existing SharePoint data.
For field inspections, a tablet-first canvas app was designed for clerks of works and optimised for ease of use across different devices. The app supports various inspection types, including site observations, handover, end-of-year, and latent defects inspections—each with tailored functionality. Users can easily capture photos, notes, and signatures during inspections which they were not able to do as seamlessly as before.
A single-click PDF report generation feature, powered by Power Automate, also allows for seamless documentation, automatically attaching reports to the relevant inspection and sending them via email.
The solution was delivered through a managed deployment process, incorporating iterative testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and ongoing feedback. We also facilitated training sessions and demos to support user adoption and ensure smooth rollout.
As a result of our review, Bridgeall was able to deliver the following benefits to the client:
- Streamlined workflows
Ability to create reports
See and identify as well as sort/filter information more efficiently
Cost benefits – ROI saving people time and effort
