Project Description
Lyons Fine Foods is a UK based food manufacturer. Lyons had embarked on a journey with Microsoft Power Platform with a range of applications, workflows and dashboards in use across the group.
With existing resource being reduced, they needed a partner to provide support but also help them take their Power Platform work to the next level, someone who can become a true partner with them to improve their strategy and solutions for the benefit of the business.
Lyons Fine Foods
Lyons Fine Foods (specifically Lyons Seafoods, the legacy J. Lyons & Co. and Farne) is a premier UK seafood supplier and historic food manufacturer. As part of Labeyrie Fine Foods, they specialise in responsibly sourced prawns, shellfish, and smoked salmon, delivering high-quality, sustainably caught products to major retailers and hospitality providers nationwide.
Challenges
Lyons Fine Foods were an existing user of Power Power Platform with heavy adoption across the Group. They had a wide range of Power Automate workflows, Power App Solutions and Power BI Dashboards in use.
Alongside this, they had a reduction in their internal Power Platform technical capabilities over time. This meant Lyons Fine Foods needed both a partner that could come in and help keep their existing suite of solutions running, managing their backlog of issues and business as usual requests.
In addition, they also recognised that they needed guidance and advice from a partner to help them ensure their Power Platform strategy and governance are following best practices and supporting the business to put them on a stable footing for the future.
Our Approach
Bridgeall were selected as their Power Platform partner, due to our flexible approach and ability to hit the ground running.
Our approach was broken into 3 main stages:
Stage 1 – Power Platform Strategy Review
We wanted to help get Lyons Fine Foods in a better place with their governance and environment approach.
We carried out an environment and strategy review, implemented a Centre of Excellence, reviewed their setup to ensure best practices and reviewed their approach to regional collaboration between the UK and French headquarters.
Stage 2 – Support and Backlog
In parallel to the review we started work on their backlog. They have a development system tracking all the bugs and issues they have across their various Power Platform solutions. This list was prioritised and worked through by our team to quickly resolve existing issues and deal with any new issues that arise.
We are working with Lyons Fine Foods to both find, identify and optimise their full Power Platform estate as this was decentralised, helping them to catalogue and improve this as we go.
Stage 3 – New Improvements
Once their environment and governance strategy was established, we have been able to work with them on identifying solutions requiring change and any new requirements they might have.
For example, we have rebuilt their invoicing solution in Power Apps, Fixed a number of Power BI reports and fixed issues with a number of key line of business solutions.
Next Steps
Bridgeall remains a strategic Power Platform Partner with Lyons Seafood, helping them understand, improve and expand their use of Power Platform Solutions. They now have a stable environment with a managed backlog of issues.
They are following best practices in terms of governance and strategy and are working on delivering new solutions across the business, seeing significantly more value from Power Platform than before.
